Set/Sponge Dosa with Potato-peas curry
When i had joined my college in Bangalore till then i was not aware of this kind of Dosa. I ate it here for first time and i became a fan of this dish. It was served in my hostel mess on Wednesday and i used to wait eagerly for the day and i tired to have same dish at the lunch too by hiding some of them in mess which was not done (on escaping the eyes of warden ;)). I enjoyed this dish thoroughly my college days whether its hostel mess or canteen. After leaving hostel, i tried this recipe at my home and it came out to be nice on first attempt it self. Its nostalgic :)

Ingredients :
For Set Dosa :
Rice 3 portion
Urad dal 1 portion
Methi seeds 1 Tbs
Oil 1/2 cup
Salt as per taste
Recipe :
1. Soak rice + Meethi seeds and urad dal separately in two bowls overnight.
2. Grind two of them separately with dosa batter consistency and mix them well. Now cover it with a cloth and keep it in warm place for fermentation for 5-6 hours.
3. It will rise to double its volume.
4. Now heat a dosa tawa and put some oil in it and wipe it with damp muslin cloth. Now put some oil again and with help of ladle put dosa batter and let it spread by it self. (The batter should not be runny other wise it will not have sponge texture).
5. After some time turn the dosa on another side and put some more oil on tava. Once it get brown you can take it out on plate. Similarly make another dosas.
Ingredients for Potato and peas curry:
Boiled and half messed potatoes 1 cup
Green peas boiled 1/2 cup
Black mustard 1 Tbs
Kari patta Few green leaves
Green chili chopped 1 Tbs
Onion chopped 1/2 cup
Tomato chopped 1/2 cup
Black pepper 1Tbs
Chilli powder 1/2 Tbs
Turmeric 1 Tbs
Garam Masala two pinch
Coriander leaves chopped
Salt as per taste
Oil 4 spoon
Recipe :
1. Heat a pan and put oil till it get warm then add mustard seeds and kari patta and wait it tempers.
2. Now add green chili and onion and saute till pink.
3. Now add green peas and tomatoes and saute again for two minutes.
4. Add all the masala and salt and saute till you get a nice aroma of spices.
5. Add potatoes and mix t well and add water till curry like consistency and now cover it for another 4-5 minutes.
6. It is done and take it out in bowl and garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with set dosa and few rings of onions.
This is one of the best breakfast dish you can enjoy. I will be back with another recipe shortly till then Bye bye Yummy mummies :)
