From ages haldi doodh is considered as immunity booster. Our ancestors used to give in cold, cough etc. In west it is also served and called as turmeric latte and called as Golden milk sue to its colour. Its really very good effect on ur health and perfectly boost our immunity. It is served before sleep. It helps in overall health of individual. Tried and tested since old times so lets see the recipe.
Ingredients - 1. 1. Milk - 2 Cup2. Grated fresh Turmeric - 1 Inch (Can use 1 Tsp turmeric powder also) 3. Cardamom powder - 1 Pinch 4. Dalchini/cinnamon - 1 stick 5. Pepper powder - 1 Pinch6. Saffron - 4-5 strands 7. Ghee - 1 Tsp 8. Jaggery powder - 1 Tsp 9. Dry ginger powder - 1 Pinch (optional) (Can use 1 inch freshly grated ginger) 10. Almond flakes to garnishRecipe -
- Heat a sauce pan on low flame
- Sprinkle some water to avoid milk sticking to bottom
- Add 2 cups of milk and boil for few seconds
- Add 1 inch fresh grated turmeric, can instead add 1 tsp of turmeric powder
- Add 1 pinch freshly crushed cardamom powder
- Add add 1 stick of dalchinni or cinnamon, instead can add 1 pinch cinnamon powder
- Add 4-5 strands on saffron
- Add 1 pinch of dry ginger powder or freshly grated ginger will also work
- Boil for 7-8 mins on low flame till flavour of masala gets released in milk
- Add 1 tsp of ghee and boil for few more seconds
- Add 1 tsp of jaggery powder and boil till it melts. You can use honey also but add it before serving
- Milk is ready switch off the flame and strain the milk
