Makki Di Roti // Maize Flour Flatbread



Hello, I am sharing recipe of Makki Di Roti.  It’s very simple yet delicious preparation.

Ingredients - 
  1. Makki or Maize flour - 1 Cup
  2. Grated radish - 2 medium size
  3. Chopped coriander leaves - 2 Tbsp
  4. Grated ginger - 1 inch (Optional)
  5. Chopped green chilli - 1-2 (Optional)
  6. Ghee/Oil - 1 Tbsp + Roasting
  7. Salt - As per taste
Note - ratio of Flour:Water = 1:1


Recipe -

  1. Add 1 cup water in kadhai
  2. keep flame on medium
  3. Add salt on roaring boil
  4. Add 1 tbsp ghee
  5. Add 1 inch grated ginger & chopped green chilli 
  6. (optional)
  7. Add 2 grated medium sized radish
  8. Add 1 cup maize flour
  9. ratio of maize flour:water = 1:1
  10. combine well on low flame
  11. Turn off flame
  12. Cover and cool to lukewarm
  13. Transfer in big bowl
  14. Add 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  15. Add 1 spoon water
  16. Knead into soft dough
  17. Take maize flour for dusting
  18. Make a small dough ball
  19. Dust dough ball
  20. Roll dough ball into thin roti
  21. Heat a tawa on medium flame
  22. Put roti on tawa
  23. Flip roti to other side
  24. Lets puff/roast roti in three ways -
    1st way - Puffing roti on direct flame
    2nd way - Puffing roti on tawa
    3rd way - roasting roti with ghee on tawa
  25. prepare remaining roti
  26. Once it is done serve Makki di roti with sarson da saag
